At ICare Mental & Behavioral Wellness, we are committed to supporting the next generation of mental health professionals through our Student Preceptorship and Professional Development Program. This program is designed for students currently enrolled in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) programs who are completing their required clinical training.
Our clinic provides a structured clinical learning environment where students can gain hands-on experience in psychiatric assessment, medication management, and psychotherapy under the supervision of experienced clinicians. We currently have three Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) on staff who guide and mentor students throughout their clinical rotations.
During their training, students participate in supervised clinical activities that emphasize:
- Psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessment
- Psychopharmacology and medication management
- Evidence-based psychotherapy interventions
- Therapy modalities such as CBT, supportive therapy, and behavioral approaches
- Clinical documentation and treatment planning
Our goal is to provide a comprehensive educational experience that strengthens clinical reasoning, builds confidence in psychiatric practice, and prepares students for independent professional practice in mental health care.
