Clinical Propaedeutics — the discipline of diagnostic reasoning, patient examination, and structured
clinical evaluation — shaped his analytical and systematic approach to medicine early in his career.
This rigorous foundation established his commitment to precision, thorough assessment, and
disciplined medical thinking before transitioning to nursing and ultimately specializing in
psychiatry.
After completing his Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner training at West Coast University,
Ismel transitioned fully into outpatient psychiatry. He now specializes in ADHD, mood disorders,
anxiety disorders, behavioral dysregulation, substance use conditions, sleep disturbances, and
executive functioning deficits.
His clinical model is rooted in precision psychiatry. Every diagnosis is supported by structured
evaluations, validated screening tools, DSM-5 criteria, and functional impairment analysis.
Medication management is delivered with regulatory compliance, ethical oversight, and careful
monitoring.
Beyond conventional psychiatry, he incorporates a holistic and performance-based framework. He
evaluates sleep quality, metabolic health, hormonal balance, stress patterns, nutrition, and
lifestyle factors as critical components of mental stability. He provides evidence-based guidance on
supplementation when clinically appropriate.
ICare Mental and Behavioral Wellness also integrates pharmacogenomic testing and genetic markers to
personalize treatment selection. By combining genetic insights with clinical expertise, he reduces
unnecessary medication trials and enhances therapeutic precision.
His approach extends beyond symptom control; it is centered on restoring executive functioning,
cognitive clarity, emotional regulation, and sustainable mental performance.
Fluent in English and Spanish, he serves a diverse patient population while maintaining the highest
standards of professionalism, structure, and accountability.
Under his leadership, ICare Mental and Behavioral Wellness continues to evolve as a precision-driven
psychiatric practice grounded in medical depth, holistic integration, and measurable outcomes.
